About me
Hi! I am happy to see you visiting my website - and even the about page. My name is Knut Erik, I am a wildlifephotographer born in 1999. From May 2019 and until December 2023 I had the pleasure to be a part of the Canon Nordic Photographer program. In 2022 I became an elected member of NN - Norske Naturfotografer - an association for professional naturephotographers in Norway.
Since 2022 I am also a part of the jury in NM i Naturfoto - the oldest naturephotography contest in Norway.
My passion for wildelifephotography started with my interest in nature and wildlife. My first encounter with photography was when I borrowed my dads video camera in 2009. A couple of years later I bought my first DSLR, and since then my passion for photography has grown.
To me, photography has two dimensions. First of all I love being out in the wild, experiencing close encounters with wild birds and animals. Secondly, I hope and belive that sharing images of beautiful nature can raise awareness of the importance of nature conservation.
In addition, I am passionate about sharing lectures where the main goal is to inspire fellow photographers - by telling stories from the field, and by giving technical insights on how to get the most out of your gear. I have spoken both for larger festivals such as Norsk Naturfotofestival in Ski, Norway, the award ceremony of Nordic Nature Photo Contest in Oslo, Norway and at Matsalu Nature Film Festival outside Tallinn, Estonia - as well as many photographic associations in Norway.
While photography is my passion, my profession is being an associate in contract law.
